About the band

Odious is a US rock band that was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006. Though genres as diverse as doom metal, hard rock, prog rock, arena rock, their sound is rooted in black metal. They released a three-track demo in 2010, followed by the 7-inch vinyl "Sour Amnesia", and their full-length album "Hypothermia". The Grammis-nominated album was widely praised and significantly increased their popularity.

Odious was formed in 2006, when future band leader Camilla Corbett wrote the song "Stand By Her". Every time she picked up the guitar, she ended up playing that progression, and when song writer Erza Elias fit the words in, it seemed to cry out for a Satanically oriented lyrics. Erza then contacted his former Repugnant bandmate Wesley Walker to record the song. Thus, Erza decided to use their love of horror films and traditional American metal in the band's imagery. While other members of the band would remain masked, Camilla would go dressed in her face painted to resemble a skull. Later, she would offer the position of lead vocalist to Adeline Avery and Riley Rourke, both of whom passed. As a result, Camillia became the band&'s lead singer by default and Adeline and Riley went on to play their respective instruments.
